The 4 o’clock moth (Dysphania numana) is a large day flying moth (diurnal) that means it does not fly at night but you can find it flying around in the middle of daytime it’s occasionally called the false tiger moth or the peacock jewel because of its bright appearance with the wingspan of 50-80mm (1-3 inches) most active in the afternoon hence the name 4 o’clock moth and caterpillars have been observed feeding on Carallia brachiata (corkybark) and Litchi chinensis (lychee). you may like eating lychee too it’s very good and they do eat as adults they eat nectar so they can pollinate and feed their bodies and are usually seen near Fern-leaf Grevillea. the species is native to Australia
