It’s in the genus tolype (genus and Latin name here) the Latin/scientific name isss…..tolype velleda!!!
The Large Tolype moth (Tolype velleda) is not actually large at all it’s around the size of your thumb I consider it a pretty small moth compared to imperials or large silk moths and they belong to the family Lasiocampidae aka lappet moths and the specific animal name for butterflies and moths themselves every single one is Lepidoptera I had one as a pet once did you know that if a moth flies fast enough it can sound like very very heavy loud buzzing mine did that these moths actually feel extremely soft like one of the softest things I’ve ever felt!! And this is one of the fun types of moths where the females are larger than the males these moths do kinda look like tiramisu but they are not edible at all do not eat one get real tiramisu the larvae feed on various broadleaf trees n shrubs including Malus, Fraxinus, Populus, Tilia, Fagus, Betula, Prunus, and Quercus species. That is a mouthful of shrubbery these are a type of moth where they do not have functional mouthparts or digestive systems yep they do not eat as adults if you didn’t know already moths are literally butterflies but fatter and fuzzier they eat nectar and only like 1 or 2 species eat clothing so don’t go blaming every single poor poor moth anyways hopefully this isn’t getting too long so yes
